Expertise
Matt’s work is focused on re-centering the library in the college community both as an inspiring, people-centered facility and by providing the tools and services that integrate the library with every aspect of the research enterprise at ESF. To achieve this, he keeps focused on solving other people’s problems and not the many obstacles to solving them. This mindset carries over into his work as the United University Professions local chapter President at ESF.
In addition to his work as library director, Matt also teaches ESF 200 an introductory course for students of all levels and all curricula to the basic research process for information retrieval and management. Emphasis on electronic bibliographic and Internet research tools.
He holds degrees from SUNY Oswego and SUNY Albany and received the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Librarianship in 2011.
