Abstract
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken between the 7th and 10th of November 2021 during groundworks associated with the construction of a barn, yard and access track. All machine stripping down to the natural chalk was monitored. There was no evidence for any form of archaeological activity associated with the Bronze Age / Saxon burial mounds located to the north of the development area. Although the linear feature (F102) ran parallel with the Roman road, there is no evidence to suggest that it is contemporaneous with this road.
