Abstract

Center for Cultural Landscape Preservation cultural landscape Cultural Landscape Report Historic Preservation Landscape Architecture

The goal of this project is to assist the Geneva Historical Society to fully preserve and interpret the historic qualities of the cultural landscape, including both living and non-living heritage assets. A Cultural Landscape

Report (CLR) is a management document that can provide the site managers, stakeholders, and board members of Rose Hill with a comprehensive site history, a detailed survey of existing conditions and their historic integrity, and recommendations for long-term planning and decision-making. The CLR may contribute substantially to long-term management priorities at the Rose Hill site by providing a spatial evaluation and analysis of the historic resources and materials that reflect the cultural landscape during the Swan family’s ownership period between 1850 and 1890. Additionally, novel research on the narratives shaping this

site provide for ample opportunities to develop new interpretive programming that can shape the visitor experience to the site and provide critical educational content.
