Abstract
This study reviews and compares investigations on the analysis of cake formation and growth reported in the literature during the past three decades. It is shown that the major differences among them arise from the boundary conditions and moving boundary conditions applied and different notations used. Based on the results of these investigations, new topics for future study are proposed.
